Status: Under Development / Planned Phase | Location: AWS Industrial Campus Park, Shreveport, LA 71101, United States
The AWS Shreveport Data Center Campus Building C facility represents the third major hyperscale building development within Amazon Web Services’ cloud infrastructure footprint in Caddo Parish, Louisiana. Designed to support increasing cloud capacity, regional redundancy, artificial intelligence workloads, machine learning applications, and expanded availability zone capabilities across the US South, the multi-story facility provides approximately 80 MW of gross utility power allocation and around 60 MW of critical IT capacity. Electrical infrastructure is supported through dual high-voltage substation feeds from Southwest Electric Power Company (SWEPCO), providing resilient utility connectivity for mission-critical operations. Static modular uninterruptible power supply systems are deployed in redundant configurations, while emergency standby diesel generators provide backup generation during utility interruptions. The cooling infrastructure incorporates chilled-water systems and advanced direct-to-chip liquid cooling loops capable of supporting high-density server racks associated with AI and accelerated computing workloads. The facility is also designed as an important network node within AWS’s global infrastructure, incorporating subterranean dark-fiber vaults, dual carrier-neutral meet-me rooms, and low-latency connectivity routes toward major network exchanges in the Dallas-Fort Worth market. Physical security combines controlled perimeter access, biometric authentication, surveillance infrastructure, secured equipment areas, and zero-trust access principles to protect critical digital infrastructure. Building C is positioned to provide scalable computing capacity, high availability, network resilience, and operational continuity while supporting AWS’s long-term expansion across Louisiana and the broader southern United States. Its infrastructure is designed to accommodate evolving cloud demand and increasingly intensive AI computing requirements.
