CapitaLand Data Centre Chennai 01: 54MW High-Density AI-Ready Hub
Status: Active Development / Under Construction | Location: Pattravakkam Rd, Sidco Industrial Estate, Ambattur, Chennai, Greater Chennai, Tamil Nadu 600053
Project Overview
CapitaLand Data Centre Chennai 01 (CLDC Chennai 01) is a flagship hyperscale-ready data center located on a 4-acre site in Ambattur, one of Chennai’s primary industrial and information technology corridors. Designed to support global hyperscale cloud providers, enterprise organizations, and digital service operators, the facility delivers 54 MW of gross power, including approximately 34 MW of critical IT capacity. The campus comprises 12 purpose-built data halls engineered to accommodate high-density computing environments, featuring slab-to-slab ceiling heights of 7.3 meters and floor-loading capacities of up to 2,000 kg/m² to support advanced rack configurations and AI infrastructure. CLDC Chennai 01 is equipped with a combination of Direct-to-Chip liquid cooling and high-efficiency air-cooled systems, enabling the deployment of GPU-intensive artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads while optimizing energy efficiency. Additional sustainability features include water economizers, solar power integration, and energy-efficient building systems designed to achieve LEED Gold certification. Strategically located near Chennai’s major telecommunications infrastructure, the facility offers low-latency optical connectivity to regional carrier networks and nearby international submarine cable landing stations, providing resilient access to domestic and global digital ecosystems. With redundant power and cooling infrastructure, advanced physical security, scalable expansion capabilities, and AI-ready design, CLDC Chennai 01 serves as a future-focused digital infrastructure hub supporting cloud computing, enterprise applications, and next-generation AI deployments across India and the Asia-Pacific region.
