Purpose-built to support Meta’s next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, the facility is designed to power large-scale AI training clusters, deep learning models, generative AI applications, and the company’s global digital platforms, including social media, messaging, and immersive computing services. Building 5 incorporates advanced direct-to-chip liquid cooling technology and high-density power delivery systems to efficiently support the thermal and electrical demands of modern GPU-based AI workloads. Powered entirely by 100% certified renewable electricity sourced through regional solar energy projects and utility partnerships, the facility reflects Meta’s long-term commitment to sustainable digital infrastructure and carbon reduction. To minimize water consumption in Arizona’s arid climate, Building 5 utilizes highly efficient dry-cooling technology that delivers up to 60% greater water efficiency than conventional industry cooling systems. The facility also features resilient electrical infrastructure, redundant power and cooling systems, advanced physical security, automated infrastructure management, and high-capacity fiber connectivity for low-latency global communications. As part of Meta’s expanding Mesa campus, Building 5 strengthens the company’s ability to deliver scalable, energy-efficient, and AI-ready digital infrastructure capable of supporting rapidly growing compute demands and future technological innovation.
