CDC Data Centres Auckland: 220MW Hyperscale & Sovereign Cloud Hub

Status: Operational / Active Hyperscale Expansion & Development   |   Location: Dual-Campus Footprint: 29 Highgate Parkway, Silverdale 0932 & 32 Westpoint Drive, Hobsonville, Auckland 0618, New Zealand

Project Overview

CDC Data Centres' Auckland regional development represents New Zealand’s first and largest hyperscale data center ecosystem, strategically spanning two interconnected campuses in Silverdale (SD1) and Hobsonville (HV1 and HV2). Together, the campuses currently deliver approximately 98 MW of operational IT capacity, with a long-term master plan to expand beyond 220 MW, providing one of the country’s most scalable digital infrastructure platforms. Purpose-built to support government agencies, hyperscale cloud providers, critical national infrastructure, and large enterprise organisations, the Auckland campuses are designed with a strong focus on data sovereignty, operational resilience, and mission-critical reliability. Engineered to meet stringent government-grade security requirements, the facilities provide highly resilient power and cooling systems backed by 100% availability guarantees, ensuring continuous operation for essential digital services and high-value workloads. Sustainability is a core component of the development, with the campuses powered entirely by 100% renewable electricity and supported by net-zero carbon certification, helping customers achieve ambitious environmental and sustainability targets. The interconnected campuses feature low-latency dark fibre links that enable seamless data replication, disaster recovery, and workload mobility between sites, while providing access to major New Zealand internet service providers and international subsea cable networks for high-speed regional and global connectivity. Designed to accommodate the growing demands of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and high-performance computing (HPC), the facilities are also equipped with high-density liquid cooling readiness to support next-generation GPU infrastructure. Combined with enterprise-grade security, scalable infrastructure, and robust connectivity, CDC Data Centres’ Auckland ecosystem delivers a future-ready platform for secure cloud, AI, and digital transformation initiatives across New Zealand and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
