Project Overview

China Mobile International London Data Center is a purpose-built Tier III facility at 536 Ipswich Road on the Slough Trading Estate in Slough, United Kingdom, providing 9.66 MW of critical IT load across 104,787 gross sq ft, or 9,735 m², on a 10,000 m² site footprint. Supporting more than 1,680 server racks, the facility serves as China Mobile International’s primary European network exchange hub, combining data center capacity with direct access to a broader international telecommunications infrastructure. Its strategic value comes from integration with CMI’s global terrestrial and submarine cable networks and local European fiber rings, enabling the facility to function as an interconnection point between European digital infrastructure and international routes. Dual high-voltage grid leads provide diversified electrical supply, while 2N static UPS architecture and N+2 cooling redundancy add resilience across critical power and thermal systems. Three diverse fiber entry points further strengthen physical network diversity by providing multiple routes into the facility, reducing dependence on a single fiber path. These connectivity capabilities support low-latency communication with major European financial and cloud centers, making the facility relevant to international enterprise networks, financial services, cloud connectivity, and data-intensive applications. As a purpose-built Tier III site, the facility combines resilient infrastructure with a substantial rack deployment capability, allowing customers to operate critical IT equipment within an established European connectivity environment. Its location on the Slough Trading Estate places the data center within a major UK digital infrastructure cluster, while its integration with CMI’s terrestrial and submarine networks extends its role beyond local colocation toward international network exchange. The combination of 9.66 MW of IT capacity, diversified power and fiber infrastructure, and global network integration makes the facility an important component of CMI’s European digital infrastructure footprint.
