Project Overview

The Colt Tokyo Inzai 5 Data Centre is a flagship hyperscale digital infrastructure facility developed by Colt Data Centre Services (Colt DCS) in Inzai City, Chiba Prefecture, within the Greater Tokyo metropolitan region of Japan. Located in the established Inzai data center cluster, the facility benefits from the region’s strategic importance as a major digital infrastructure market, supported by strong telecommunications connectivity, access to metropolitan Tokyo, and geological characteristics that are favorable for critical infrastructure development. The site represents Colt DCS’s fifth major data center development within the Inzai hub, further expanding the company’s presence in one of Japan’s most important hyperscale and cloud computing locations. Spanning approximately 30,159 square meters of gross floor area, the multi-story facility is master-planned to provide up to 32.0 MW of critical IT load capacity, creating substantial infrastructure for hyperscale cloud platforms, enterprise applications, high-density computing, and next-generation artificial intelligence workloads. The development is engineered to Colt’s Tier 3 resilient standards, incorporating infrastructure designed to maintain high availability while allowing maintenance and servicing of critical systems. Given Japan’s exposure to seismic activity, the facility incorporates base-isolation seismic architecture designed to improve structural resilience and protect critical data center infrastructure during significant ground movement. Its mechanical systems are optimized for high-density computing environments, with advanced cooling configurations designed to accommodate liquid-to-chip heat rejection technologies for next-generation AI GPU clusters and other accelerated computing workloads. This cooling flexibility enables the facility to respond to increasing rack densities and the higher thermal output associated with modern processors and AI accelerators. The Inzai location also provides access to the wider Tokyo connectivity ecosystem, supporting connections between cloud platforms, enterprises, telecommunications networks, and digital service providers. By combining resilient seismic design, scalable IT capacity, advanced cooling capabilities, and strategic metropolitan connectivity, Colt Tokyo Inzai 5 strengthens Colt DCS’s position within Japan’s rapidly evolving hyperscale and AI infrastructure market while adding further capacity to the established Inzai data center cluster.
