The Colt Tokyo Yoshikawa Data Centre is a large-scale hyperscale digital infrastructure development engineered by Colt Data Centre Services (Colt DCS) in Yoshikawa, Saitama Prefecture, within the Greater Tokyo region of Japan. Located on a 9.5-acre site approximately 26 kilometers from central Tokyo, the development expands Colt DCS’s hyperscale footprint beyond the established Inzai cluster and strengthens its presence within the strategic Northern Greater Tokyo corridor. The Yoshikawa location provides access to the extensive metropolitan technology, telecommunications, and enterprise ecosystem surrounding Tokyo while offering an additional development area for large-scale digital infrastructure. Master-planned to deliver up to 80.0 MW of critical IT load capacity across two purpose-built multi-story structures, the campus is designed to accommodate high-density artificial intelligence, machine learning, hyperscale cloud computing, and other compute-intensive workloads. The facility is built to Colt Tier 3 specifications and incorporates advanced base-isolation seismic protection architecture, reflecting the importance of earthquake resilience for critical infrastructure operating in Japan. Its electrical systems are designed around resilient 2N/N+1 static UPS configurations and emergency standby generation to support continuity of critical IT operations during utility interruptions or infrastructure maintenance events. Cooling infrastructure combines hybrid liquid-to-chip direct cooling with high-efficiency air cooling, providing operational flexibility across different rack densities and workload requirements while supporting the elevated thermal demands of AI accelerators and next-generation computing systems. Carrier-neutral fiber connectivity is also incorporated into the campus design, providing diverse network paths and enabling connections with Tokyo’s major internet exchange points, telecommunications operators, cloud platforms, and enterprise networks. The combination of substantial planned IT capacity, seismic protection, flexible cooling architecture, resilient electrical systems, and metropolitan connectivity positions the Colt Tokyo Yoshikawa Data Centre as an important expansion of Colt DCS’s Japanese hyperscale portfolio. By establishing a major computing platform outside the highly concentrated Inzai market, the development also contributes to the continued geographic diversification of data center capacity across the Greater Tokyo region.
