Project Overview

The DataBank Red Oak DFW13 Data Center is a planned high-density hyperscale data center development located on Stainback Road, Red Oak, Texas 75154, USA, in Ellis County. The facility forms part of DataBank's larger 292-acre Red Oak Campus, a master-planned data center development south of Dallas designed to provide up to approximately 480 MW of total capacity across multiple phases. DFW13 is planned as a multi-story facility encompassing approximately 425,170 gross square feet and incorporating an integrated office component to support administrative, operational, and facility management functions. The development is engineered to accommodate high-performance computing (HPC), artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and other power-intensive workloads requiring substantial electrical and thermal infrastructure. DFW13 is designed around DataBank's Universal Data Hall Design (UDHD) architecture, providing a standardized and scalable configuration intended to support evolving customer requirements and increasingly dense computing deployments. The facility is expected to deliver approximately 60.0 MW of critical IT capacity, providing substantial power for advanced server, GPU, and accelerated-computing infrastructure. Electricity for the development is supported by a dedicated 400 MW on-site substation connected to the ERCOT grid, with the electrical infrastructure designed to be expandable to approximately 800 MW as additional campus capacity is developed. This power strategy provides a foundation for phased growth across the broader Red Oak campus while supporting the reliability requirements of mission-critical data center operations. Thermal management is designed to accommodate both conventional high-density air-cooled deployments and direct-to-chip liquid cooling configurations, providing flexibility for workloads with significantly different rack-density and heat-generation requirements. The liquid-cooling capability is particularly important for AI and HPC environments where advanced GPU systems can generate substantially higher thermal loads than traditional enterprise servers. With its substantial building footprint, planned 60 MW IT capacity, scalable electrical infrastructure, and flexible cooling architecture, DFW13 represents a significant component of DataBank's Red Oak expansion and reflects the increasing demand for hyperscale-ready facilities capable of supporting next-generation cloud, AI, and HPC workloads in the rapidly growing Dallas-area data center market.
