Project Overview
The DayOne Aragon AI Data Center Campus is a 300 MW hyperscale artificial intelligence infrastructure development located in Escatrón, in Zaragoza province, Spain, and developed by Singapore-headquartered DayOne in partnership with Spanish energy group Ignis. Representing an estimated investment exceeding €3 billion, approximately $3.2 billion, the project is designed to support the rapidly growing demand for large-scale AI computing, high-performance computing, cloud infrastructure, and other power-intensive digital workloads. The campus benefits from its strategic co-location near Ignis’s existing and planned power generation assets, enabling the development of an integrated energy strategy tailored to the substantial electricity requirements of hyperscale AI infrastructure. A key element of the project is its hybrid energy supply model, which combines natural gas peaking capabilities with locally generated solar and wind power. This configuration is intended to provide a resilient and flexible electricity supply while increasing the contribution of renewable energy to data center operations. The combination of multiple generation sources can also help manage fluctuations in renewable output and support the continuous power requirements of high-density computing systems.
