Digital Edge Ansan SEL2 AI Data Center: Greater Seoul South Korea Specs

Status: Under Construction / Commissioning Phase   |   Location: Seonggok-dong, Danwon-gu, Ansan-si, Gyeonggi-do, Greater Seoul, South Korea

Project Overview

The Digital Edge Ansan AI Data Center, also known as SEL2, is a flagship 120 MW hyperscale facility located within the Ansan industrial cluster in the Greater Seoul Metropolitan Area, South Korea. Developed in partnership with SK Ecoplant, the project is positioned as one of the country’s largest carrier-neutral and AI-ready data center developments, designed to meet the rapidly increasing demand for high-density computing capacity across the Korean digital economy. SEL2 is engineered specifically to support dense GPU clusters, artificial intelligence training and inference, high-performance computing, cloud platforms, and other computationally intensive workloads that require substantial power and advanced thermal management. A major feature of the facility is its readiness for liquid cooling, enabling the infrastructure to accommodate next-generation AI servers and high-density GPU configurations that generate significantly more heat than conventional enterprise equipment. The development also incorporates hydrogen fuel cell power technology, supporting a more diversified and potentially lower-carbon approach to on-site energy resilience while contributing to the project’s broader environmental, social, and governance objectives. As a carrier-neutral facility, SEL2 is designed to provide customers with flexible connectivity options and access to multiple network operators, supporting reliable connections to regional and international telecommunications infrastructure. Its strategic location within the Greater Seoul Metropolitan Area provides access to one of Asia’s most concentrated technology, financial, enterprise, and digital services markets, while enabling low-latency connectivity to Seoul’s major business and technology hubs. The combination of substantial power capacity, AI-optimized infrastructure, liquid cooling readiness, hydrogen fuel cell technology, and carrier-neutral connectivity positions Digital Edge SEL2 as an important platform for South Korea’s expanding AI and cloud ecosystem. The facility is expected to play a significant role in supporting next-generation digital workloads while advancing more resilient and sustainability-focused data center infrastructure in the region.
