Project Overview

Digital Realty CH2 is a 336,000 gross sq ft single-story data center located at 2299 Busse Road in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, directly across from Digital Realty CH1 and forming part of the company’s established Chicago-area campus infrastructure. Purpose-built for scalable, high-density colocation and cloud node deployments, CH2 provides 25.6 MW of critical IT capacity supported by 40.0 MW of total utility power capacity, giving customers substantial electrical infrastructure for enterprise and cloud workloads. The facility is designed to accommodate growing compute requirements while maintaining resilient power and cooling systems. Its 2N UPS architecture provides fully redundant power paths for critical IT infrastructure, while high-efficiency N+1 cooling provides additional mechanical capacity to support continuous operations and maintenance requirements. A key advantage of CH2 is its integration with the surrounding Digital Realty network ecosystem. Dedicated underground conduit systems connect the facility directly to the CH1 campus, while regional dark fiber routes provide diverse connectivity options across the Chicago market. These connections support efficient campus-to-campus infrastructure integration and provide access to major interconnection locations. CH2 also offers cross-connect access to 350 East Cermak Road, a major Chicago connectivity hub, as well as connections to global cloud providers through Digital Realty’s Service Fabric. This connectivity supports hybrid cloud, multicloud, enterprise applications, and data-intensive workloads requiring direct and efficient network access. Its location in Elk Grove Village places CH2 within a major Chicago data center cluster with established power and telecommunications infrastructure. By combining 25.6 MW of critical IT capacity, 40 MW of utility power capacity, 2N UPS redundancy, N+1 cooling, underground campus connectivity, and Service Fabric access, Digital Realty CH2 provides a scalable platform for high-density colocation and cloud deployments.
