Project Overview

The EDGNEX Madrid Data Center, also designated as MAD01, is a major hyperscale and cloud colocation facility developed by EDGNEX Data Centers, the global digital infrastructure company fully owned by Dubai-based DAMAC Group. Located at Calle Vigil, 11, in Madrid’s Vicálvaro district (28052 Madrid, Spain), the facility occupies a strategically important position within one of Southern Europe’s fastest-growing digital infrastructure markets. The site is approximately 10 kilometres from Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport and around 5 kilometers from major regional Internet Exchange points, providing convenient access to international connectivity and network infrastructure. The development spans more than 22,000 square meters of gross building area and represents an investment of more than €400 million, with approximately 40.0 MW of planned critical IT load capacity. Designed to support hyperscale cloud, enterprise, and high-density computing requirements, MAD01 is engineered to Tier III-equivalent standards with resilient electrical and mechanical infrastructure. Its power architecture incorporates 2N/N+1 static UPS redundancy and standby emergency generation to support operational continuity during grid interruptions or maintenance events. Cooling infrastructure includes energy-efficient free-cooling chillers and is designed with readiness for direct-to-chip liquid cooling, allowing the facility to accommodate increasingly dense AI and accelerated-computing workloads. Carrier-neutral connectivity is supported through dual Meet-Me-Rooms, enabling customers to access multiple telecommunications providers and network routes. The facility is also positioned to connect with ES-PANIX and Iberian optical-fiber networks, strengthening its role as a connectivity hub for cloud platforms, digital businesses, and AI infrastructure across Madrid and the wider Iberian market.
