Project Overview

Empyrion Digital MY1 Data Center Campus is a flagship 200 MW hyperscale and AI-ready digital infrastructure development planned across 34.9 acres within the i-TechValley Industrial Park in Gelang Patah, Johor, Malaysia. With a planned investment exceeding $1 billion, the campus is being master-planned to accommodate five 40 MW two-story data halls, providing approximately 1.7 million square feet of data center space for the rapidly expanding cloud, enterprise, and artificial intelligence markets across Southeast Asia. The facility is designed to support high-density computing environments and next-generation AI workloads, where increasingly powerful processors and accelerated computing systems require significantly greater power and advanced thermal management capabilities. An initial 145 MW power agreement with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) provides the foundation for the campus’s early development, while the broader 200 MW design allows capacity to scale as customer demand increases. MY1 is expected to incorporate high-efficiency direct-to-chip liquid cooling architectures to manage heat generated by dense AI and high-performance computing deployments while improving operational efficiency. The campus also includes options for solar power integration, supporting Empyrion Digital’s wider sustainability objectives and providing additional opportunities for renewable energy adoption. Connectivity is another strategic advantage, with planned cross-border fiber routes linking MY1 directly with Empyrion’s SG1 facility in Singapore. This connection strengthens the campus’s role within the wider Singapore-Johor digital corridor and enables low-latency connectivity between two major regional data center markets. By combining substantial power capacity, AI-ready data halls, advanced liquid cooling, renewable energy options, and direct connectivity to Singapore, Empyrion Digital MY1 is positioned as a significant regional infrastructure platform for hyperscale cloud providers, enterprises, and AI-focused customers seeking scalable capacity in Southeast Asia.
