Status: Proposed / Active Conditional-Use Permitting & Appeals Phase | Location: Wells Draw Road, ~6 Miles Southwest of Myton, UT 84052, USA
The Energence Utah / Nine Mile Data Center is a proposed $10 billion, campus-scale hyperscale data center development situated along Wells Draw Road, approximately 6 miles southwest of Myton, Duchesne County, Utah, USA. Developed primarily by Energence Utah, LLC, with land-use applications filed through Nine Mile Data, LLC, the project represents a major digital infrastructure initiative within the Uintah Basin and spans approximately 475 acres of a larger 960-plus-acre leased site. The large-scale campus is engineered to support substantial artificial intelligence (AI), hyperscale, and enterprise cloud computing workloads, with planned power capacity ranging from approximately 400 MW to more than 700 MW. This significant capacity is intended to provide the electrical foundation required for high-density computing environments, including advanced AI systems and large-scale cloud infrastructure. A defining element of the development is its proposed approach to energy supply, which is centered on integrated off-grid generation designed to enable rapid power deployment while reducing reliance on conventional grid infrastructure. The planned energy strategy incorporates local Uintah Basin natural gas power generation through Wells Draw Energy LLC, complemented by large-scale solar array installations to provide additional generation capacity and diversify the campus’s energy resources. This combination of on-site generation technologies is intended to support the project’s substantial and potentially expanding computing requirements while providing greater control over energy availability. The project’s extensive land position also provides room for phased development and future expansion as demand for AI and hyperscale infrastructure continues to increase. With its substantial investment, large site footprint, significant planned power capacity, integrated generation strategy, and focus on high-density computing, the Energence Utah / Nine Mile Data Center is positioned as a potentially significant digital infrastructure development in Utah’s Uintah Basin.
