Equinix Slough Campus Data Center London United Kingdom

Status: Operational / Flagship Financial & Cloud Ecosystem Hub   |   Location: Slough Trading Estate (Buckingham Ave / Liverpool Rd / Banbury Ave), Slough, SL1 4LH, United Kingdom

Project Overview

The Equinix Slough Campus, comprising the primary International Business Exchange IBX data centers LD4, LD5, LD6, and LD7, is a major financial execution and multi asset trading hub in Europe. Located across Buckingham Avenue, Liverpool Road, and Banbury Avenue on the Slough Trading Estate in the United Kingdom, the campus provides more than 50,000 m², or over 500,000 sq ft, of high density technical whitespace connected through high count dedicated dark fiber rings. This interconnected infrastructure supports low latency requirements for liquidity providers, major cloud hyperscalers, financial institutions, and global enterprises that depend on rapid and reliable data exchange. The campus uses N+1 and N+2 UPS and generator configurations, providing resilient power infrastructure for critical computing and trading workloads. Indirect free cooling supports efficient thermal management by using suitable external conditions to reduce reliance on mechanical cooling, helping manage the energy requirements of high density equipment. Direct dark fiber interconnections to major London internet exchanges, including LINX, provide high capacity connectivity and support access to London’s broader network ecosystem. The campus also sources 100% certified renewable energy, aligning its power strategy with sustainability requirements while supporting continuous operation of critical digital infrastructure. The combination of extensive technical whitespace, dedicated fiber connectivity, resilient electrical systems, and low latency network access creates an environment suited to applications where network performance and availability are essential. Its concentration of four major IBX facilities within the Slough Trading Estate also enables customers to access a broad range of colocation and interconnection services from an established digital infrastructure location. Through its connectivity and technical scale, the campus supports financial markets, cloud services, enterprise networks, and other data intensive applications requiring reliable connections across London and international markets.
