Galaxy Digital’s Helios Campus is a flagship 1,500+ acre high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI) mega-campus located in Dickens County, Texas Panhandle. Originally acquired from Argo Blockchain in late 2022 for approximately $65 million as a Bitcoin mining facility, Galaxy Digital transformed and re-engineered the site into one of North America’s largest AI-ready digital infrastructure campuses. The development is designed to support the rapidly increasing demand for AI computing, large-scale machine learning, and advanced cloud workloads. Helios features more than 1.6 GW of ERCOT-approved power capacity, providing the massive energy infrastructure required for next-generation hyperscale computing environments. The campus is anchored by long-term agreements with leading cloud providers, including CoreWeave, which has secured more than 460 MW of capacity for AI-focused deployments. Engineered for extreme compute density, Helios supports rack power requirements ranging from 130 kW to 250 kW through advanced infrastructure designs, including hybrid direct liquid cooling (DLC) systems and optimized electrical architectures. These capabilities enable efficient operation of high-performance GPU clusters used for large language model (LLM) training, AI inference, and other compute-intensive applications. By converting a former cryptocurrency mining site into an advanced AI infrastructure hub, Galaxy Digital’s Helios Campus represents a major shift toward purpose-built facilities designed for the future of artificial intelligence and high-performance computing.
