Project Overview
Pure Data Centres’ Seinäjoki AI Campus (SJK01) is a flagship €7.5+ billion ($8.58+ billion USD) hyperscale artificial intelligence digital infrastructure development located on a 370-acre site in Seinäjoki, western Finland. Designed as a next-generation AI and high-performance computing (HPC) hub, the campus is purpose-built to support the rapidly growing demand for advanced computing capacity, large-scale AI model training, and GPU-intensive workloads. The facility architecture is based on repeatable 40 MW modular data halls equipped with advanced Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC) manifolds, enabling efficient thermal management for ultra-high-density GPU server environments. The campus is backed by more than 700 MVA of 100% renewable grid power, supported by an on-site primary electrical substation that has already been completed and is operational for the first phase of development. Designed to attract major hyperscale cloud operators and technology companies, the campus includes global cloud providers such as Microsoft as anchor customers. Sustainability is a core element of the project, with waste heat generated from high-performance computing operations captured and reused through Seinäjoki’s municipal district heating network. This circular energy approach helps provide heating for local communities while improving overall energy efficiency. With its combination of renewable power, AI-focused infrastructure, advanced cooling technologies, and sustainable operations, the Seinäjoki AI Campus represents Finland’s emergence as a major destination for future AI computing infrastructure.
