Project Overview

The Hscale MXP1 Data Center, also known as the Hscale Arluno Hyperscale Campus, is a high-density enterprise colocation and cloud-ready data center facility operated by Hscale in Arluno, within the Metropolitan City of Milan in Lombardy, Italy. Located along Via Padre Massimiliano Kolbe, the facility occupies a strategically positioned site within the western Milan digital infrastructure corridor and provides access to the region's expanding telecommunications, enterprise and technology ecosystem. MXP1 is designed to support hyperscale customers, cloud service providers and enterprises operating high-density computing environments, including workloads associated with artificial intelligence and other data-intensive applications. The facility follows Tier III equivalent high-availability principles and incorporates modular technical infrastructure that can be scaled as customer requirements evolve. Its electrical architecture includes dual-path A+B utility distribution, redundant uninterruptible power supply systems and standby emergency generation, providing multiple layers of resilience for business-critical IT equipment. Thermal management is also an important component of the facility's design, with N+1 precision cooling infrastructure intended to maintain stable operating conditions across technical areas while providing compatibility with higher-density computing configurations. The site's readiness for direct-to-chip liquid cooling is particularly relevant as AI and high-performance computing workloads place increasing demands on conventional air-based cooling systems. Connectivity further strengthens the strategic importance of the Arluno location. MXP1 is positioned within the western Milan telecommunications corridor and provides redundant fiber connectivity toward MIX, the Milan Internet eXchange, supporting interconnection with carriers, cloud platforms, internet service providers and enterprise networks. Its location along the A4 transportation corridor also provides access to major commercial and industrial areas across Northern Italy. As Milan's data center market continues to expand beyond the traditional urban core, locations such as Arluno provide opportunities for scalable digital infrastructure development while maintaining access to the metropolitan connectivity ecosystem. Hscale MXP1 therefore contributes to the growing hyperscale and enterprise infrastructure landscape around Milan, combining resilient power systems, scalable technical space, advanced cooling readiness and diverse network connectivity to support cloud, AI and other high-density workloads.
