Project Overview

Iron Mountain Data Centers Hutto-4 is a planned hyperscale data center facility within Iron Mountain’s 500-acre master-planned campus along County Road 404, also known as FM 3349, in Hutto, Texas. The facility represents the fourth building component of a broader seven-building hyperscale development planned across the campus, forming part of a multi-hundred-megawatt digital infrastructure platform positioned south of Samsung’s Taylor semiconductor manufacturing facility. Hutto-4 is being designed to support high-density computing requirements associated with artificial intelligence, enterprise cloud platforms, and other data-intensive workloads. Its planned infrastructure reflects the increasing power and cooling requirements of modern hyperscale facilities, with the campus incorporating dedicated electrical infrastructure to support reliable operations. A dedicated on-site substation is planned to strengthen the facility’s power delivery capabilities and support the substantial electrical loads associated with high-density computing environments. The development also incorporates a closed-loop, water-efficient cooling architecture intended to reduce reliance on fresh water for ongoing cooling operations. This approach is particularly relevant in Central Texas, where water availability and resource management have become important considerations in large-scale data center planning. Hutto-4 forms part of Iron Mountain’s broader expansion into the Greater Austin digital infrastructure market, an area benefiting from semiconductor investment, technology development, expanding power infrastructure, and demand for cloud and AI computing capacity. Grid-connected operations across the wider campus are targeted for 2030, positioning the development as a long-term addition to the region’s hyperscale data center pipeline.
