Khazna AUH2.2 Abu Dhabi Data Center: Hyperscale Expansion Hub in UAE

Status: Fully Operational Hyperscale Facility / Phase 2 Expansion   |   Location: Zayed Military City - Abu Dhabi - United Arab Emirates

Project Overview

Khazna AUH2.2 is an advanced hyperscale data center facility operating as a significant expansion phase within Khazna Data Centers' flagship Mohammed Bin Zayed (MBZ) City campus in Abu Dhabi. Strategically developed adjacent to the AUH1 and AUH2 facilities, AUH2.2 strengthens the campus's ability to support the rapidly increasing demand for hyperscale cloud services, sovereign enterprise infrastructure, government digital platforms, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads across the United Arab Emirates. Designed with a modular architecture, the facility enables flexible and scalable deployment of IT capacity, allowing customers to expand operations efficiently while maintaining high levels of reliability and operational resilience. The data center features high-density modular pod layouts capable of supporting modern compute-intensive applications and next-generation cloud environments that require increased rack power densities and efficient thermal management. Its resilient infrastructure incorporates fully isolated 2N electrical power paths, redundant UPS systems, backup generators, and fault-tolerant power distribution designed to maximize service continuity during maintenance or unexpected infrastructure events. Advanced chilled-water cooling systems provide highly efficient temperature control, enabling the facility to support demanding AI clusters and enterprise workloads while improving overall energy efficiency and operational performance. Multiple layers of physical security, including biometric access controls, 24/7 surveillance, environmental monitoring, and comprehensive fire detection and suppression systems, ensure the protection of critical customer infrastructure. Through direct, low-latency fiber connectivity to the UAE's national telecommunications networks, cloud providers, internet exchange points, and regional digital ecosystems, AUH2.2 delivers seamless interconnection, disaster recovery capabilities, hybrid cloud integration, and secure data exchange for enterprise and hyperscale customers. As an integral component of Khazna's expanding Abu Dhabi campus, AUH2.2 reinforces the UAE's position as a regional leader in hyperscale digital infrastructure while supporting national initiatives focused on cloud adoption, artificial intelligence innovation, digital transformation, and long-term economic diversification.
