Project Overview

The KT Mokdong 1st DC, also known as Mokdong 1 IDC, is a foundational enterprise colocation and Internet data center owned and operated by KT Cloud, a subsidiary of KT Corporation, at 924-4 Mok-dong, also referenced as 233-5 Mokdongdong-ro, in Seoul’s Yangcheon District, South Korea. Established as one of KT’s important urban data center facilities, the center serves as a major connectivity and IT infrastructure hub for financial institutions, content delivery networks, enterprise cloud platforms, telecommunications companies, and internet service providers across the Seoul Metropolitan Area. The 16-story mission-critical facility provides approximately 20 MW of critical IT capacity and is supported by high-voltage dual-substation power feeds from KEPCO, providing additional electrical resilience for customer workloads. Designed to Tier III standards, the facility incorporates redundant power and cooling infrastructure intended to maintain service availability during planned maintenance and individual equipment failures. Its electrical architecture includes 2N and N+1 redundancy configurations, while high-density cooling capabilities enable the center to accommodate a broad range of enterprise and compute-intensive deployments. The facility is also directly integrated with the Korea Internet Neutral Exchange (KOIX), strengthening its role as an important interconnection point for networks and digital service providers operating in South Korea. Its location in Mokdong places it within an established telecommunications corridor in western Seoul and provides convenient connectivity to the wider metropolitan network ecosystem. The facility operates alongside the adjacent KT Mokdong 2nd DC, creating a complementary data center cluster that supports geographic and operational resilience for KT Cloud customers. By combining substantial IT capacity, resilient electrical infrastructure, redundant cooling systems, Internet Exchange connectivity, and strategic proximity to other KT facilities, the KT Mokdong 1st DC provides a reliable platform for enterprise colocation, cloud computing, financial services, content delivery, and other mission-critical digital workloads across the Seoul metropolitan market.
