The development represents a projected overall investment of approximately £3.9 billion and has received outline planning consent from Hertsmere Borough Council for the construction of up to approximately 2.0 million square feet of mission-critical data center space. The scale of the permitted development positions LDC1 as a major addition to the UK's data center infrastructure pipeline, with the potential to support substantial cloud computing, artificial intelligence, high-performance computing (HPC), and other enterprise digital workloads.
