Lumen Miami 5 Data Center 3MW Colocation

Status: Operational   |   Location: 1109 NW 22nd St, Miami, FL 33127, USA

Project Overview

The Lumen Miami 5 Data Center, located at 1109 NW 22nd Street in Miami, Florida, is a mission-critical colocation and edge computing facility designed to support enterprise, cloud, network, and high-performance digital workloads across South Florida and international connectivity markets. The facility encompasses approximately 100,000 square feet of total building space and is positioned within the Allapattah industrial corridor, placing it close to Downtown Miami and the region’s major telecommunications routes. Its strategic location allows customers to deploy infrastructure near important network access points while maintaining efficient connectivity with businesses and digital services throughout Miami and international markets. Lumen Miami 5 provides a flexible colocation environment capable of supporting different customer deployment requirements, including standard cabinets, high-density racks, custom secure cages, and edge bare-metal configurations. Standard cabinets provide dedicated space for conventional enterprise IT equipment, while high-density racks can accommodate deployments with greater computing and power requirements. Custom secure cages provide additional physical separation for organizations with enhanced security or larger-scale infrastructure requirements, while bare-metal configurations support dedicated computing resources for latency-sensitive and performance-intensive applications. The facility is engineered around resilient electrical infrastructure, incorporating redundant utility power feeds to reduce dependence on a single incoming power source. Static N+1 UPS systems provide additional protection against power interruptions and equipment failures, while industrial standby diesel generators provide emergency power during prolonged utility outages. This layered approach to electrical resilience is designed to support continuous availability for mission-critical customer workloads. Connectivity is a central component of Lumen Miami 5’s role within the regional digital infrastructure ecosystem. Through integration with Lumen’s global fiber backbone, customers can access diverse fiber pathways and high-capacity network infrastructure connecting Miami with other major business and technology markets. The facility also supports dark fiber connectivity and direct private cloud connections, enabling enterprises to establish dedicated network paths to major cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. These capabilities can support hybrid cloud architectures, enterprise applications, data-intensive workloads, and distributed computing environments while reducing reliance on the public Internet. The facility’s Miami location also provides strategic access to network routes serving Latin America and other international destinations. By combining substantial physical space, flexible colocation configurations, redundant power infrastructure, extensive fiber connectivity, and private cloud access, Lumen Miami 5 functions as an important low-latency infrastructure node for enterprises and service providers. Overall, the facility provides a resilient and highly connected environment for deploying critical IT infrastructure and supporting digital operations across North America and Latin America.
