Meta Platforms 200MW Capacity Colocation Facility In Beloit

Status: Permitting / Regulatory Review   |   Location: W B R Townline Road & I-39 ALT (S Prairie Ave), Beloit, Rock County, Wisconsin, 53546, USA

Project Overview

Meta Beloit Data Center, codenamed “Project Cornmaze,” is a proposed $1.0 billion hyperscale AI compute campus spanning more than 430 acres along W B R Townline Road and I-39 ALT across the Towns of Beloit and Turtle in Rock County, Wisconsin. Developed in coordination with Panattoni Development Company and shell entity Cambrin LLC, the multi-building campus is planned to include four data center structures encompassing more than 2 million square feet of total building area. The development is purpose-built to support Meta's next-generation artificial intelligence model training clusters and the broader computing infrastructure required for its global social platforms and digital services. The substantial site footprint provides space for large-scale data center infrastructure, supporting facilities, electrical systems, cooling equipment, and future operational requirements across the campus. Closed-loop direct-to-chip liquid cooling systems are incorporated into the design to manage the thermal demands of high-density AI computing equipment, where advanced processors generate significant heat during intensive model training and inference operations. Dual high-voltage grid connections provide diversified electrical infrastructure for the campus, supporting the substantial power requirements associated with hyperscale AI workloads and improving resilience across the site's utility architecture. Dedicated dark fiber interconnections further strengthen the development's network infrastructure, with planned connectivity linking the campus to major Midwest internet exchanges in Chicago and Madison. These network routes are designed to support high-capacity data transmission between Meta's computing infrastructure, regional network hubs, and broader digital ecosystems. The combination of a 430-plus-acre site, more than 2 million square feet of planned data center space, four facilities, high-voltage grid connectivity, direct-to-chip liquid cooling, and dedicated dark fiber creates a large-scale infrastructure platform for AI computing. The Beloit location also places the campus within reach of major Midwest connectivity and power infrastructure, supporting its planned role within Meta's expanding AI and hyperscale data center network.
