Meta Lebanon AI Data Center Campus (1 GW)
Status: Under Construction (Groundbreaking: Feb 11, 2026) | Location: labanon city us
Project Overview
The Meta Lebanon Data Center Campus is a monumental $10 billion investment located within the LEAP Innovation District in Lebanon, Indiana. This project represents one of Meta’s most ambitious infrastructure builds to date, designed as a massive 1 Gigawatt (GW) AI factory. The campus is engineered to support the intense compute requirements of next-generation generative AI models while simultaneously powering Meta’s core suite of applications (Facebook, Instagram, and Threads).
Spanning a massive site in Boone County, the campus will feature multiple state-of-the-art data halls optimized for ultra-high-density AI hardware. A key technological highlight is the implementation of a water-efficient, closed-loop liquid cooling system that recirculates water, allowing the facility to operate with zero water consumption for the majority of the year. Meta has also committed over $120 million toward local public infrastructure, including extensive road upgrades, water systems, and new power transmission lines. In line with Meta’s sustainability goals, the campus will be 100% matched with clean energy and is pursuing LEED Gold certification.
