Naver NVIDIA Morocco AI Data Center Tamesna Sovereign Campus

Status: Under Construction / Master Development   |   Location: Technopolis Precinct, Tamesna, Rabat-SalΓ©-KΓ©nitra, Morocco

Project Overview

The Naver and NVIDIA Morocco AI Data Center facility in Tamesna, within Morocco’s Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, represents a strategic digital infrastructure development aimed at strengthening North Africa’s position in artificial intelligence and sovereign computing. Developed through collaboration involving Naver Cloud, NVIDIA, and Moroccan technology stakeholders, the planned campus is designed to provide up to 130 megawatts of gross utility capacity and approximately 100 megawatts of critical IT load dedicated to advanced AI workloads, including sovereign large language models, Arabic and French language AI framework training, machine learning, and enterprise cloud services. Electrical infrastructure is planned around high-voltage grid interconnections managed by the Office National de l’Électricité et de l’Eau Potable (ONEE), with access to Morocco’s expanding renewable energy ecosystem, including large-scale solar and wind generation. Resilient power delivery is supported through static uninterruptible power supply architectures, redundant electrical distribution, and standby emergency generation systems designed to maintain continuity for mission-critical computing operations. Engineered for high-density accelerated computing platforms based on NVIDIA Grace Hopper and Blackwell architectures, the facility incorporates advanced thermal-management systems, including waterless closed-loop cooling and direct-to-chip liquid cooling, which are particularly suited to the region’s warm and arid climate while helping reduce reliance on municipal water resources. The campus is also positioned to benefit from Morocco’s strategic geographic location between Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. Diverse subterranean dark-fiber pathways are planned to provide resilient, low-latency connectivity toward Mediterranean submarine cable landing stations, regional telecommunications hubs, European network corridors, and major African digital infrastructure nodes. By combining sovereign AI capabilities, renewable-energy access, high-density computing infrastructure, advanced cooling technologies, and international connectivity, the Tamesna development could serve as an important regional platform for next-generation artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and digital transformation across Africa and neighboring markets.
