NEOM Hyperscale Data Center: 500MW Sustainable Cloud Hub
Status: Under Construction / Early Phase Commissioning | Location: Oxagon, NEOM
Project Overview
The NEOM Hyperscale Data Center is a flagship infrastructure project located in the Oxagon district of Saudi Arabia’s futuristic city, NEOM. Designed to be the "digital backbone" of the region, this 500MW facility is engineered to support the cognitive cities of the future by integrating advanced AI, 5G, and IoT technologies into a single, seamless ecosystem. As a zero-carbon development, the project is powered exclusively by 100% renewable energy leveraging the region’s massive solar and wind potential and features a highly efficient liquid cooling system to handle the extreme desert climate while maintaining a target PUE of 1.15. The facility not only provides high-density compute for global hyperscalers like Oracle and Microsoft but also serves as a critical node for subsea cables connecting Europe, Asia, and Africa. By prioritizing data sovereignty and sustainable innovation, the NEOM data center stands as a global benchmark for large-scale, environmentally conscious digital infrastructure, aiming to accelerate the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 digital transformation goals.
