Project Overview

Nigeria Data Centre 1 (NDC1) is a 10 MW critical IT load, purpose-built carrier-neutral data center facility developed by Digital Parks Africa, associated with Master Power Technologies Group, in Lagos, Nigeria. Positioned as DPA's flagship expansion into West Africa, the facility is designed to provide resilient, high-density digital infrastructure for financial institutions, cloud hyperscalers, telecommunications operators, enterprise technology platforms, and other organizations requiring reliable colocation and connectivity services. NDC1 is being engineered to achieve Tier IV certification from the Uptime Institute, with the design focused on concurrent maintainability and high fault tolerance for mission-critical workloads. The electrical architecture incorporates N+N and 2N UPS configurations alongside redundant standby generation, providing multiple layers of backup power protection and supporting continuous data center operations during equipment maintenance or utility disruptions. Precision closed-loop cooling systems are planned to maintain controlled operating conditions across the technical environment, while direct liquid cooling readiness provides flexibility for higher-density computing deployments and evolving AI and high-performance workloads. As a carrier-neutral facility, NDC1 includes dual Meet-Me-Rooms that enable customers to establish connections with multiple telecommunications carriers, network operators, cloud platforms, and service providers without dependence on a single connectivity provider. Low-latency dark fiber interlinks further connect the facility with subsea cable landing stations along the West African coast, supporting international data transmission and access to regional and global network routes. Its Lagos location places the development within Nigeria's principal commercial and telecommunications market, providing access to financial, enterprise, technology, and digital service ecosystems. The combination of high-capacity power infrastructure, advanced cooling, carrier-neutral connectivity, planned Tier IV certification, and subsea cable access establishes NDC1 as a strategic digital infrastructure platform for West African enterprises and international technology providers.
