Project Overview

noris network FRA1 is a high-performance colocation and sovereign AI compute data center located at Am Kronberger Hang 2c in Schwalbach am Taunus within Germany’s Frankfurt metropolitan region. The facility provides approximately 7,000 square meters of IT space with a total power allocation of 30 MW, supporting cloud workloads, enterprise hosting, high-density artificial intelligence deployments, and regulated industries requiring secure and resilient digital infrastructure. Its location within the Frankfurt metropolitan area provides access to a major European connectivity and financial hub, supporting organizations that require low-latency network access and regional data processing capabilities. FRA1 is also designed to address the increasing power and cooling requirements of AI infrastructure through high-density rack configurations capable of accommodating up to 60 units. The facility incorporates patent-pending modular chilling technology with chillerless cooling, reducing reliance on conventional mechanical cooling systems and supporting efficient thermal management for demanding compute environments. A key sustainability feature is the direct export of waste heat from the data center to Schwalbach’s municipal district heating network, enabling recovered thermal energy to support local heating requirements instead of being discharged as waste. The facility is also positioned to serve organizations operating under strict regulatory requirements, including financial and banking institutions subject to the Digital Operational Resilience Act. Through its combination of sovereign infrastructure, high-density AI capability, advanced cooling, waste-heat recovery, and 30 MW power capacity, FRA1 supports the evolving requirements of enterprise, cloud, and AI workloads in the Frankfurt region.
