Project Overview

QScale Q01 Campus is a purpose-built high-performance artificial intelligence and supercomputing data center campus located at 2280 Albert-Dion Street in Lévis, Quebec. The development spans approximately 930,000 square feet across eight planned phases, providing a scalable infrastructure platform designed for advanced AI, machine learning, scientific computing, and other high-performance workloads. The campus is engineered for extreme rack densities, with individual cabinets capable of supporting more than 600 kW, enabling the deployment of next-generation AI accelerators and other power-intensive computing systems. To manage the substantial thermal output associated with these workloads, Q01 incorporates a flexible liquid-cooling architecture supporting direct-to-chip, rear-door heat exchanger, and immersion cooling configurations. The cooling strategy allows infrastructure to adapt to different server architectures and evolving AI hardware requirements while supporting high-density deployments. Q01 is powered by Hydro-Québec’s renewable hydroelectric electricity grid, providing access to a low-carbon power source for its large-scale computing operations. The facility also incorporates free cooling for up to 80% of the year, leveraging Quebec’s climate to reduce dependence on mechanical cooling systems and improve energy efficiency. In addition, the campus is designed to recover waste heat for localized agricultural applications, creating a pathway for thermal energy reuse. Through its phased expansion model, high-density liquid cooling, renewable power supply, extended free-cooling capability, and waste-heat recovery, Q01 is designed to support the infrastructure requirements of increasingly energy-intensive AI and supercomputing workloads.
