The NTT DATA Tokyo TKY11 Data Center, also referred to as Shiroi 1 (SHR1), is a major hyperscale development being delivered by NTT Global Data Centers Japan in partnership with TEPCO Power Grid. Located at 1141-2 Fujitaiyama in Shiroi City, Chiba Prefecture, the facility forms part of the expanding northern Greater Tokyo data center corridor, positioned adjacent to the established Inzai data center cluster. The site is situated approximately 20 meters above sea level within a newly designated industrial zone characterized by comparatively low disaster risk, supporting the development of resilient digital infrastructure for enterprise, cloud, and AI workloads. TKY11 is planned as the flagship building within a two-building campus designed for a total critical IT capacity of 50 MW. Phase 1 will provide 24 MW of critical IT load across approximately 7,360 square meters of dedicated server space, while a subsequent phase is planned to add another 26 MW, creating a substantial hyperscale platform as demand for high-density computing continues to expand across the Tokyo market. The facility is engineered for mission-critical cloud computing and accelerated AI workloads, with direct-to-chip liquid cooling (DLC) readiness providing a pathway for supporting higher-density GPU and compute deployments. Wall-blown air-conditioning systems complement the cooling architecture, while dual-substation high-voltage power feeds are designed to strengthen electrical resilience and support continuous operations. The TKY11 development further reinforces the growing concentration of hyperscale infrastructure across Chiba Prefecture, benefiting from the region’s established connectivity, power infrastructure, and proximity to Tokyo’s major digital and business markets.
