The Polarise Amberg AI Data Center in Amberg, Bavaria, Germany, represents a cutting-edge hyperscale and high-density artificial intelligence computing campus designed to support advanced deep learning, matrix processing, and European sovereign cloud deployments. Spanning more than 45,000 gross square meters of purpose-built industrial infrastructure, the multi-building complex is designed around 100 megawatts of total utility grid capacity and 80 megawatts of critical IT capacity, enabling ultra-high-density deployments with rack densities exceeding 100 kilowatts per cabinet. The facility is supported by dual high-voltage substation connections linked to the Bavarian transmission grid, while modular static uninterruptible power supply systems provide resilient 2N-redundant power protection. Emergency generation systems using hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) biofuels further strengthen operational continuity while supporting lower-carbon backup operations. Thermal management combines advanced liquid-to-chip cooling loops with high-efficiency free-cooling chilled-water systems configured in N+2 redundancy, allowing the facility to efficiently manage the intense heat generated by AI accelerators and other high-performance computing infrastructure. The cooling architecture is also designed to facilitate waste-heat recovery for potential integration with local municipal heating networks. Strategically positioned in Southern Germany, the Amberg campus benefits from proximity to major industrial centers, telecommunications infrastructure, and regional fiber networks. As a carrier-neutral connectivity hub, the facility provides access to subterranean dark-fiber infrastructure and low-latency connectivity toward the Frankfurt Internet Exchange (DE-CIX), European cloud platforms, enterprise networks, and other critical digital infrastructure corridors. Its combination of high-density computing, resilient infrastructure, advanced cooling, renewable-oriented backup systems, and strategic connectivity positions Polarise Amberg as an important emerging platform for AI workloads and sovereign digital infrastructure in Europe.
