Project Summary

Portus IPHH4 Hamburg Wendenstraße 12.8MW Hyperscale Data Center Germany

Status: Under Construction / Active Development   |   Location: Wendenstraße 412, 20537 Hamburg, Germany

Project Overview

The Portus IPHH4 Data Center is a multi-megawatt regional hyperscale and high-density colocation facility located at Wendenstraße 412, 20537 Hamburg, Germany. Operated by Portus Data Centers, formerly known as IPHH, the facility is positioned adjacent to the existing IPHH3 data center and forms an important component of the operator’s broader virtual connectivity campus within Hamburg’s Hammerbrook digital corridor. The development is designed to support a diverse range of enterprise, cloud, telecommunications, high-performance computing, and artificial intelligence workloads, with infrastructure optimized for both conventional and increasingly dense computing environments. IPHH4 targets an operational Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.2 or lower, reflecting a focus on energy-efficient data center operations and compliance with Germany’s Energy Efficiency Act (EnEfG). The facility also provides direct-to-chip liquid cooling options for HPC and AI deployments, allowing customers to accommodate higher-density computing systems while managing the increasing thermal demands of advanced processors and accelerated computing infrastructure. Beyond its computing capabilities, IPHH4 strengthens Portus Data Centers’ role as a connectivity provider in Northern Germany. The campus functions as a primary network hub, with access to nearly 50 telecommunications carriers and direct cross-connect connectivity to the ECIX Hamburg internet exchange node, supporting low-latency communication between enterprises, networks, cloud platforms, and digital service providers. Its location within Hamburg’s established digital infrastructure corridor further enhances access to regional business and technology ecosystems. By combining energy-efficient design, liquid-cooling capabilities, extensive carrier connectivity, and internet exchange access, IPHH4 is positioned to support Hamburg’s growing requirements for cloud, AI, HPC, and mission-critical digital infrastructure.
