Pulsant Manchester NW-1 Data Center: Regional Edge Colocation Hub UK

Status: Fully Operational Regional Edge Data Center   |   Location: 1-2 Ball Green, Cobra Court, Trafford Park, Stretford, Manchester M32 0QT, United Kingdom

Project Overview

Pulsant Manchester NW-1 is a strategically located regional edge data center positioned in Cobra Court, Trafford Park, close to central Manchester and the M60 motorway, providing secure, low-latency digital infrastructure for organizations across North West England. Operated by Pulsant, the facility delivers approximately 1.0 MW of critical IT capacity across 936 square meters of technical whitespace and accommodates more than 300 server racks, offering flexible colocation solutions for enterprises, cloud providers, public sector organizations, and managed service providers. Designed to support edge computing, hybrid cloud environments, disaster recovery, business continuity, and mission-critical enterprise applications, NW-1 combines resilient infrastructure with high-performance connectivity to meet the evolving demands of digital transformation. The data center is directly integrated with Pulsant’s nationwide platformEDGE™ network, enabling customers to securely connect multiple Pulsant facilities while reducing application latency and improving workload distribution across the United Kingdom. The presence of an on-site London Internet Exchange (LINX) Manchester Point of Presence (PoP) provides direct access to one of the UK's leading internet exchange ecosystems, enabling fast, carrier-neutral interconnection with internet service providers, cloud platforms, telecommunications networks, and enterprise partners. Engineered to international standards for operational resilience, the facility incorporates redundant power distribution, energy-efficient cooling systems, advanced fire detection and suppression technologies, multi-layer physical security, and continuous environmental monitoring to ensure maximum service availability. Sustainability is also a core feature of the facility, with operations powered by 100% renewable electricity to support lower carbon emissions and environmentally responsible digital infrastructure. Combining resilient colocation services, edge computing capabilities, robust network connectivity, and renewable energy sourcing, Pulsant Manchester NW-1 serves as a critical regional digital hub for businesses seeking secure, scalable, and future-ready infrastructure across the United Kingdom.
