QTS & Lancium Hall County: $10B Texas Hyperscale Hub

Status: Under Development / Site Civil Works   |   Location: 465-acre Lancium Clean Campus site, Hall County, Texas, USA

Project Overview

Representing a joint mega-development between Blackstone-backed QTS Data Centers and energy technology firm Lancium, the $10 billion clean energy hyperscale campus in Hall County, Texas, introduces an innovative model for self-sufficient digital infrastructure. Spanning 465 acres near Turkey, Texas, the master-planned campus accommodates up to 11 individual data center buildings designed specifically to support high-density artificial intelligence models, deep learning training clusters, and massive parallel computing workloads. The defining aspect of the development is its integrated behind-the-meter energy and water strategy. Lancium and QTS are fully funding 100 percent of the required energy infrastructure improvements, relieving local municipal utility ratepayers of grid upgrade costs. Power delivery is fortified through on-site utility-scale solar generation paired with a high-capacity Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to buffer grid operations and ensure uninterruptible compute availability. To protect regional water resources in West Texas, the campus utilizes closed-loop cooling systems that eliminate municipal water reliance. All operational water is sourced strictly from dedicated private on-site wells or trucked in from approved external suppliers, avoiding any draw on local municipal systems. The project serves as a major economic catalyst, creating up to 7,000 peak construction jobs and approximately 350 permanent operational roles. Upon completion, the Hall County campus will operate as a premier, islanded compute core for North American hyperscale AI deployment.
