Project Overview
The QTS Phoenix Data Center expansion represents one of the largest digital infrastructure developments in the Southwestern United States, significantly strengthening the Phoenix metropolitan area’s position as a leading hyperscale and AI data center market. The expansion builds upon QTS’s original 85-acre 40th Street campus in central Phoenix, where the PHX1 and PHX2 facilities together provide up to 210 MW of capacity for cloud, enterprise, and colocation customers. To meet the rapidly growing demand for hyperscale computing and artificial intelligence infrastructure, QTS has expanded its presence across Maricopa County with a 375+ acre mega-campus in Glendale. The new development is designed to accommodate major hyperscale cloud providers, enterprise customers, and large-scale AI training superclusters requiring high-density computing environments. The campus is engineered to support advanced liquid-cooled infrastructure capable of handling next-generation GPU deployments and AI workloads with elevated rack power densities. Reliable power delivery is provided through robust utility interconnections with Salt River Project (SRP) and Arizona Public Service (APS), ensuring scalable electrical capacity for future expansion. In addition, the campus benefits from high-capacity carrier-neutral fiber connectivity, enabling low-latency access to major cloud platforms, network providers, and enterprise ecosystems.
