Project Overview

STACK Infrastructure CHI02 is a 263,620 gross sq ft purpose-built hyperscale data center facility located on an 18-acre site at 1830 Jarvis Avenue in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, less than a mile from STACK’s existing CHI01 campus. The two-story facility delivers 36.0 MW of critical IT capacity and is engineered to support high-density cloud computing, machine learning, AI, and other power-intensive workloads. Direct power supply from a local ComEd substation provides the electrical infrastructure required for the facility’s substantial critical IT capacity and high-density deployments. CHI02 incorporates N+1 block-redundant electrical infrastructure, providing additional capacity for critical power systems and supporting operational resilience during maintenance or equipment events. Its zero-water closed-loop cooling loops are designed to manage heat without relying on ongoing water consumption for the cooling process, reducing the facility’s dependence on water resources while supporting high-density compute environments. The facility also incorporates dual subterranean Meet-Me-Rooms, providing diverse physical entry points for telecommunications networks and supporting carrier-neutral connectivity. Low-latency dark fiber connections to Chicago’s core network exchanges further link CHI02 with the region’s broader carrier and interconnection ecosystem, supporting cloud services, enterprise applications, AI workloads, and high-volume data exchange. Its proximity to STACK’s CHI01 campus creates a closely located infrastructure footprint within the established Elk Grove Village data center market, while the 18-acre site provides room for a substantial purpose-built deployment. By combining 36 MW of critical IT capacity, direct ComEd power, redundant electrical infrastructure, zero-water cooling, diverse network entry points, and dark fiber connectivity, STACK Infrastructure CHI02 provides a scalable platform for hyperscale cloud, machine learning, AI, and other high-density computing requirements.
