Project Overview

Stockland Brooklyn Data Centre is a proposed A$2+ billion, 250 MW hyperscale and artificial intelligence digital infrastructure campus planned across the northern portion of the 22-hectare Brooklyn Distribution Centre at 413 Francis Street in Brooklyn, Victoria. Submitted under the Victorian Government’s Development Facilitation Program, the redevelopment is planned to replace existing logistics warehouses with two purpose-built two-story data center buildings designed for large-scale digital computing requirements. The 250 MW power capacity positions the campus to support high-density AI workloads, cloud computing, hyperscale applications, and other power-intensive digital services requiring substantial electrical infrastructure. The development incorporates an advanced air-cooled architecture designed to eliminate operational water consumption, reducing dependence on municipal water resources for routine cooling operations. The site also benefits from direct high-voltage grid connections within Melbourne’s western industrial power corridor, providing access to established electricity infrastructure serving the surrounding industrial area. Connectivity is supported through dual carrier-neutral fiber routes positioned along the West Gate Freeway, providing network diversity and low-latency links to Melbourne’s broader digital infrastructure ecosystem. Backup resilience is planned through an emergency power system comprising 112 generators supported by lithium-ion uninterruptible power supply energy storage. This configuration is designed to maintain critical operations during grid interruptions and provide additional electrical resilience for high-density computing environments. By combining substantial power capacity, dedicated hyperscale facilities, water-efficient cooling, diverse fiber connectivity, and extensive backup infrastructure, the Stockland Brooklyn campus is designed to support the expanding requirements of AI, cloud, and enterprise digital infrastructure in Melbourne.
