Stockland Corporation 60MW Capacity Colocation Facility In Melbourne

Status: Permitting / Regulatory Review   |   Location: 72–76 Cherry Lane, Laverton North, Victoria, 3026, Australia

Project Overview

Stockland Laverton North Data Center is a proposed 60 MW digital infrastructure development located at 72–76 Cherry Lane in Laverton North, Melbourne, Victoria. Developed by Stockland Corporation Limited, the multi-phase campus is planned to transform a 10-hectare industrial site into a high-density hyperscale cloud and enterprise colocation facility serving the increasing requirements of digital workloads. The planned 60 MW capacity provides the electrical foundation for large-scale computing environments, including cloud platforms, enterprise applications, and high-density infrastructure that requires reliable power and advanced cooling. Designed to Tier III fault-tolerant specifications, the development incorporates resilient engineering systems intended to support continuous data center operations and critical customer workloads. Its electrical architecture includes N+1 and 2N redundancy configurations, providing additional resilience across critical power infrastructure and supporting operational continuity during equipment maintenance or component failures. High-efficiency closed-loop liquid cooling arrays are also planned to manage the thermal requirements of dense computing environments, making the facility suitable for workloads with elevated rack power demands. Connectivity is supported through dual carrier-neutral fiber routes, providing network diversity and linking the campus directly into Melbourne's primary western digital transit corridors and broader subsea cable infrastructure. The facility's location in Laverton North places it within a major industrial and logistics hub, providing access to established infrastructure and Melbourne's wider commercial and technology ecosystem. The combination of 60 MW planned capacity, a 10-hectare multi-phase site, Tier III specifications, redundant electrical systems, liquid cooling, and carrier-neutral connectivity creates a scalable platform for hyperscale cloud and enterprise colocation requirements. As Melbourne's digital infrastructure needs continue to expand, the project is structured to provide additional capacity while maintaining resilient power, efficient cooling, and diverse network connectivity for future high-density computing deployments.
