Project Overview

The Tecto Rio GIG2 Data Center is an urban edge colocation and carrier interconnection facility developed by Tecto Data Centers, a digital infrastructure platform backed by BTG Pactual and integrated with V.tal’s optical network, in central Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Located on Rua do Senado in downtown Rio de Janeiro, the facility is strategically positioned to provide low-latency connectivity for enterprise networks, financial institutions, telecommunications carriers, cloud platforms and edge computing applications across the city and wider metropolitan region. Engineered to Tier III-equivalent availability standards, GIG2 incorporates resilient infrastructure designed to support mission-critical workloads and continuous operations. The electrical architecture includes dual A+B utility power feeds, redundant static UPS systems and standby emergency diesel generators, providing multiple layers of protection against power interruptions and equipment failures. N+1 precision climate-control systems provide dependable thermal management for IT equipment while supporting efficient operation within a dense urban environment. Connectivity is a core component of the facility’s design, with carrier-neutral access to V.tal’s high-capacity terrestrial and subsea optical fiber networks enabling connections to major telecommunications and digital infrastructure routes. The facility also provides direct access to IX.br Rio de Janeiro, strengthening interconnection opportunities between networks, cloud providers, enterprises and content platforms. Connectivity to subsea landing routes toward Fortaleza and São Paulo further integrates GIG2 into Brazil’s broader digital backbone. Its central location provides proximity to major commercial, financial and technology users, making the facility well suited for latency-sensitive workloads that require close access to metropolitan customers and network exchanges. By combining resilient electrical infrastructure, advanced cooling, carrier-neutral connectivity and strategic urban positioning, Tecto Rio GIG2 supports the continued expansion of cloud, telecommunications, enterprise and edge computing infrastructure in Rio de Janeiro.
