Project Overview

The Vantage Melbourne MEL1 Campus is a flagship multi-building hyperscale data center development owned and operated by Vantage Data Centers in Victoria, Australia. Located on a 7-acre, or approximately 2.8-hectare, site at 43–45 Tullamarine Park Road in Tullamarine, within the City of Hume and Greater Melbourne, the campus benefits from a strategic location approximately 6 kilometers south of Melbourne Airport and 17 kilometers north of Melbourne’s central business district. The development encompasses more than 270,000 square feet, or over 25,000 square meters, of gross facility space distributed across three multi-story data center buildings identified as MEL11, MEL12 and MEL13. Collectively, the campus is designed to provide 64 MW of total critical IT load across 12 data modules, supporting hyperscale cloud platforms, enterprise applications, artificial intelligence and other high-performance computing workloads. Built to Tier III-equivalent standards, the campus incorporates dedicated high-voltage substation feeds, 2N and N+1 static UPS configurations and standby diesel generation to provide resilient electrical infrastructure for mission-critical operations. Thermal management is supported by closed-loop chilled-water systems, with liquid-to-chip cooling readiness enabling the campus to accommodate increasingly dense AI and accelerated-computing environments. The facility also benefits from carrier-neutral fiber connectivity, with network routes providing access to Melbourne’s major internet exchange and telecommunications infrastructure. Its proximity to Melbourne Airport, established transport networks, telecommunications infrastructure and the city’s technology ecosystem further enhances its strategic value. With substantial capacity, scalable data halls, resilient power infrastructure, advanced cooling capabilities and extensive network connectivity, the MEL1 Campus represents an important component of Melbourne’s growing hyperscale and AI-focused digital infrastructure landscape.
