Viettel IDC Data Center Campus: 140MW Hyperscale & AI Hub in Vietnam

Status: Under Construction / Active Phase 1 Buildout   |   Location: Tan Phu Trung Industrial Park, Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Project Overview

Viettel IDC’s HCM3 (Tan Phu Trung Hyperscale Campus) is Vietnam’s largest hyperscale data center development, strategically located in Ho Chi Minh City to support the country’s rapidly expanding digital economy and growing demand for cloud and artificial intelligence infrastructure. Delivering up to 140 MW of critical IT capacity across a four-hectare campus, the facility is purpose-built for global hyperscale cloud providers, over-the-top (OTT) content platforms, telecommunications operators, financial institutions, and enterprises deploying artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads. Engineered for next-generation computing environments, HCM3 supports standard rack densities of approximately 10 kW while accommodating high-density configurations of up to 60 kW per rack, making it well suited for GPU-intensive AI training clusters and large-scale compute applications. The campus incorporates proprietary liquid cooling technologies, AI-driven infrastructure management systems, and highly resilient electrical and mechanical infrastructure to maximize operational efficiency, reliability, and scalability. Designed to achieve a target Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of less than 1.40, the facility emphasizes energy-efficient operations while supporting future-ready digital infrastructure. As a carrier-neutral campus, HCM3 provides direct connectivity to Vietnam’s major international subsea fiber cable systems, delivering low-latency access to regional and global cloud platforms, internet exchanges, and enterprise networks. Combined with advanced physical security, continuous infrastructure monitoring, and scalable deployment capabilities, HCM3 serves as a strategic digital gateway for cloud expansion, AI innovation, and digital transformation across Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
