Project Overview

The Western Downs Digital Park (WDDP) is a major multi-gigawatt, AI-ready hyperscale data center campus development launched by Zerra DC through its project entity, WDDP Pty Ltd. Located on a 725.5-hectare site at 1933 Dalby–Kogan Road in Kogan, within the Western Downs Region of Queensland, Australia, and approximately 37 kilometers northwest of Dalby, the development is planned as one of the Southern Hemisphere’s largest mission-critical computing hubs. The master plan represents a projected investment of more than AU$31.9 billion and is designed to support up to 2,200 MW, or 2.2 GW, of critical IT load capacity. The campus is planned around Tier III-equivalent high-availability standards, providing the infrastructure resilience required for hyperscale cloud platforms, artificial intelligence workloads and other data-intensive applications. Its location provides access to major Queensland high-voltage transmission infrastructure, nearby solar generation and battery energy storage systems, supporting a diversified energy strategy for large-scale computing operations. The development is also expected to incorporate high-density liquid-to-chip cooling technologies, modular server hall configurations and scalable infrastructure capable of accommodating evolving AI hardware requirements. Connectivity is another key component, with planned multi-path dark-fiber routes linking the campus toward Brisbane and broader national and international network infrastructure. With its extensive land footprint, substantial planned capacity, energy infrastructure and high-performance connectivity, WDDP represents a significant proposed expansion of Australia’s hyperscale data center ecosystem and could strengthen Queensland’s position as a destination for large-scale AI, cloud and digital infrastructure investment.
