ZDATA Johor: $2B Platinum-Certified AI Hyperscale Campus

Status: Active / Under Phased Construction & Early Testing (Tracking June 2026)   |   Location: FHMX+GW, 79250 Gelang Patah, Johor, Malaysia

Project Overview

The ZDATA Johor Gelang Patah Data Center Campus is a monumental $2.04 billion USD digital infrastructure development spanning a strategic 38-acre site in Gelang Patah, Johor. Positioned directly in the core of Southeast Asia's fastest-growing infrastructure spillover zone, this mega-campus stands out as Malaysia’s first data center to receive the provisional GreenRE Platinum certification for energy, water, and sustainability design, alongside a unique Green Data Center Recycled Water Certification. Advancing rapidly through consecutive mechanical expansions in June 2026, the facility serves as a premier ecosystem built from the ground up for high-density AI training matrices and global public cloud workloads. Phase 1 has completed its infrastructure integration, while Phase 2 is pacing directly into technical data hall validation. To solve the massive environmental and water strain typically caused by heavy compute nodes, ZDATA bypasses local municipal resource dependencies by using 100% reclaimed water processed through two custom on-site treatment plants, establishing a highly sustainable footprint just across the border from Singapore’s constrained digital market.
