Southfield, Michigan, September 29, 2025- 123NET, a leading Michigan-based data center and network services provider, has completed a major expansion of its Southfield DC1 facility, adding 4 megawatts of power and advanced colocation space to support AI, machine learning, and high-density GPU workloads.
The upgraded facility supports both liquid- and air-cooled GPU deployments, enabling real-time AI inference and computationally intensive applications. It also integrates the Detroit Internet Exchange (DET-iX) on-site, providing clients with direct peering capabilities, reduced network latency, and up to 70% lower network costs.
Dan Irvin, Founder and CEO of 123NET, said, “Having DET-iX inside the data center gives our clients instant access to a powerful peering ecosystem and a more direct path to end users.”
Located at 24700 Northwestern Highway, the DC1 facility is now the only site in Michigan combining high-density GPU infrastructure with on-site peering. This expansion positions 123NET as a strategic hub for regional AI and high-performance computing deployments, catering to growing demand from enterprises, cloud providers, and AI-focused workloads.
The development reflects broader trends in the data center industry, where operators are increasingly investing in high-power, GPU-ready facilities to meet the rising compute requirements of AI and machine learning applications.
