Barcelona, Spain, October 8, 2025- Adam Ecotech has initiated development on its third data center in Barcelona, located in the Parc de l'Alba technology park in Cerdanyola del Vallès. The new facility will offer 8 megawatts (MW) of capacity across 7,500 square meters (approximately 80,729 square feet) and is being built to Tier III standards. This development will bring Adam Ecotech's total data center capacity in Spain to 12 MW, complementing existing facilities in central Barcelona and Cerdanyola del Vallès.
The first phase of the new data center, which includes four modular halls with a total capacity of 4 MW, is scheduled to launch in 2027. The facility will incorporate photovoltaic panels to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability.
José Mejías, CEO of Adam Ecotech, stated, "With this new phase of growth initiated alongside CVC DIF, we are taking another step toward the future of hosting and connectivity services for businesses, committed to innovation, sustainability, and comprehensive support in all our operations."
Adam Ecotech was acquired by CVC DIF in October 2024, marking the investment firm's first European data center acquisition. The acquisition aims to support Adam Ecotech's expansion within Spain and into other European markets.
The new data center is expected to meet the growing demand for digital infrastructure in the region, providing businesses with reliable and scalable hosting and connectivity solutions.
