Hyderabad, India - December 8, 2025 - Adani Group said today that it will set up a 48-megawatt green AI data centre in Telangana, in a project estimated to cost INR 2,500 crore (~USD 277.6 million).
At the inaugural session of the Telangana Rising Global Summit, Karan Adani, Managing Director of Adani Ports & SEZ Ltd, outlined the plan: the facility will harness cutting-edge AI, cloud computing and high-performance computing to support India’s growing digital infrastructure needs.
According to the announcement, the investment forms part of Adani’s broader push into Telangana’s infrastructure and manufacturing sectors. The conglomerate has reportedly committed nearly INR 10,000 crore (~USD 1.11 billion) in the state over recent years.
The proposed data centre is described as “green” and AI-ready; however, the company did not provide public details on the exact location within Telangana, the timeline for completion, energy sourcing or facility build-out phases. As such, the announcement should currently be understood as a strategic commitment rather than a site-specific construction plan.
The move signals growing interest by major Indian conglomerates to expand data-centre capacity in states like Telangana, which, alongside recent commitments from other players, for instance STT Global Data Centres and Blackstone, is fast becoming a hub for digital infrastructure investment.
Given global demand for AI compute and rising digital services consumption in India, the Adani project could contribute substantially to national capacity, provided site approvals, power and water infrastructure, and regulatory clearances progress smoothly.
