Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, October 14, 2025- Adani Enterprises and Bharti Airtel have joined forces with Google to build India’s largest artificial intelligence (AI) data center hub in Visakhapatnam, marking a significant milestone in the country’s digital infrastructure development.

The USD 15 billion project, scheduled for implementation between 2026 and 2030, reflects the growing trend of Indian companies partnering with global technology leaders to scale transformative initiatives.

Under this collaboration, Adani, through its joint venture AdaniConneX, will lead the construction of the data center campus and spearhead green energy solutions to power the facility sustainably. Airtel will provide critical connectivity infrastructure, establishing a state-of-the-art subsea cable landing station and a high-speed fiber network linking intra-city and inter-city locations. Google will supply its advanced AI and cloud computing technologies, enabling the data center to manage demanding AI workloads at scale.

The partnership is expected to accelerate AI adoption across multiple sectors, including healthcare, education, and manufacturing, by providing a robust platform for developers, researchers, and businesses to innovate and deploy AI-powered solutions. In addition to supporting digital growth, the initiative emphasizes sustainability, with investments in renewable energy generation, energy storage, and transmission infrastructure, ensuring that the facility operates on clean power.

The project will also expand India’s international digital connectivity through the creation of a new subsea cable gateway in Visakhapatnam. This addition is designed to complement existing landings in Mumbai and Chennai, providing crucial route diversity and enhancing the resilience of the country’s digital backbone.

Speaking on the collaboration, Gautam Adani, Chairman of Adani Group, said, “Partnering with Google and Airtel allows us to deliver world-class digital infrastructure while advancing our commitment to sustainable development in India.”

A spokesperson from Bharti Airtel highlighted the strategic significance of the partnership, noting, “Our collaboration with Google and AdaniConneX will provide critical subsea and terrestrial fiber infrastructure, supporting India’s growing digital ambitions.”

Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, added, “Working with Adani and Airtel ensures the Google AI hub in India is built with the best infrastructure, connectivity, and energy solutions, allowing us to meet the country’s AI demands responsibly.”

With this partnership, Visakhapatnam is set to emerge as a leading AI hub, reflecting the increasing alignment of Indian infrastructure and telecom companies with global technology leaders to drive large-scale, transformative projects.
