Hong Kong-Based Accelerated Infrastructure Capital to Build USD 2.1 Billion AI Data Center in Vietnam

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam - March 11, 2026 - Hong Kong investor Accelerated Infrastructure Capital (AIC) plans to invest approximately USD 2.1 billion to develop a large artificial-intelligence data-center campus in Ho Chi Minh City, marking one of the most significant digital-infrastructure investments announced in Vietnam.

The project will be developed in partnership with Vietnamese industrial developer Kinh Bac City Development Holding Corporation and will be located within the Tan Phu Trung Industrial Park in the city’s Cu Chi district. Local authorities signed a memorandum of understanding with the investor to support the development as part of Ho Chi Minh City’s broader push to position itself as a regional artificial-intelligence and digital-technology hub.

Plans call for a large-scale AI data center campus with up to 200 MW of power capacity, designed to support high-performance computing and advanced AI workloads. The facility could ultimately host as many as 100,000 graphics processing units (GPUs) once fully deployed, making it one of the largest AI-focused compute installations in Southeast Asia.

The development will be implemented in phases. The first phase is expected to include an AI “factory” with roughly 50 MW of IT capacity, capable of supporting about 28,000 GPUs dedicated to artificial-intelligence training, inference, and other high-performance computing applications.

Project developers expect construction to begin in 2026, with capital deployment continuing through early 2027 as the initial phase is completed. Financing for the project is expected to include support from Vietnamese financial institutions, including VietinBank.

In addition to data-center buildings, the campus is expected to include supporting infrastructure such as power systems, substations, cooling facilities, and high-capacity network connectivity designed to support hyperscale computing environments.

City officials view the project as a cornerstone investment for Ho Chi Minh City’s emerging AI ecosystem. Beyond providing large-scale computing capacity, the facility is expected to support cloud services, AI research, semiconductor-related companies, and digital-economy startups operating in the region.

Vietnam has been rapidly expanding its digital infrastructure as demand for cloud computing and AI accelerates across Southeast Asia. The country currently hosts several dozen commercial data centers, but industry analysts expect capacity to grow significantly in the coming years as global technology firms and infrastructure investors increase their presence in the market.

If completed at the planned scale, the Accelerated Infrastructure Capital project would rank among Vietnam’s largest AI-focused data-center developments, reinforcing Ho Chi Minh City’s ambition to become a regional hub for next-generation digital infrastructure.
