Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - February 6, 2026 - Pan-Asian data center operator Bridge Data Centers (BDC) has acquired 136.03 acres of industrial land in Selangor, Malaysia, in one of the country’s largest recent land transactions tied to data center development, according to regulatory filings and company disclosures.
The land, located within IOI Industrial Park @ Banting, was purchased from IOI Properties Group Berhad for USD 188 million. The transaction was executed through Bridge Data Centers Malaysia VII Sdn Bhd, a local subsidiary of the Singapore-headquartered company.
IOI Properties said the site was designated for industries with high infrastructure and power requirements, including data centers, and noted that the sale reflects strong demand from digital infrastructure developers seeking large, contiguous parcels suitable for campus-scale projects.
Bridge Data Centers has not disclosed technical specifications or capacity plans for the site. However, the size of the land parcel points to the potential development of a multi-building data center campus, typically associated with hyperscale or wholesale colocation deployments.
The IOI Industrial Park @ Banting offers access to major highways and is located near Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Port Klang, positioning it as a strategic location for large-scale data center infrastructure that requires strong logistics connectivity and access to power.
Bridge Data Centers operates across multiple Asia-Pacific markets and has been steadily expanding its regional footprint to meet rising demand for cloud, enterprise, and AI-related workloads. Malaysia has increasingly attracted data center investment due to comparatively lower land costs, improving power availability, and supportive government policies aimed at strengthening digital infrastructure.
IOI Properties Group said the transaction underscores growing confidence among global data center operators in Malaysia’s industrial ecosystem, particularly in locations capable of supporting high-power, mission-critical facilities.
The IOI Industrial Park @ Banting was launched in late 2025 and is positioned to attract tenants from logistics, advanced manufacturing, and digital infrastructure sectors.
Industry analysts note that large land acquisitions of this scale typically signal long-term capacity planning, as data center operators secure sites well ahead of construction to manage zoning approvals, power access, and phased development schedules. Malaysia has seen a series of similar transactions over the past year as international platforms position themselves to support Southeast Asia’s rapidly growing digital economy.
The Banting acquisition strengthens Bridge Data Centers’ presence in Malaysia and highlights the country’s expanding role as a regional hub for large-scale data center investment in the Asia-Pacific region.
